Review:
I decided to go to the cinema and finally see "The Host". It's a book adaptation by Stephenie Meyers. I remember trying to read the book back in six grade with no success. Not only was it too complicated, but the first 100 pages were dull. However, when I saw the trailer, I freaked out. It look like a great movie. But, was it?
I believe that in sci-fi movies there's a little bit of everything for everybody. It's a sci fi movies mixed with romance, thriller, action and adventure. Some parts were even funny. Especially when you can hear Melanie talking to Wanda. I enjoyed that even though it was a movie based in the future, the cars weren't flying! Not only were they on the ground but they were like mirrors. They were very pretty too look at. Another beautiful thing was the scenery. The movie was based in the desert. It was filmed in New Mexico. A beautiful desertic state in my opinion. The story line was also really interesting and unique. I liked the idea that she had to share a body. It was annoying at first but you get used to it. I also think the actors did their job well. Saoirse was a great choice. I really enjoyed her in Hanna and Lovely bones. The two boys Jared (Max Irons) & Ian (Jake Absel) were total eye candy!
On the other hand, I disliked the beginning. It started off way to intense. Too much things were going on and with more or less explanation. When she starts talking to herself it becomes really weird. But, like I said earlier, you get used to it. Another negative aspect of this movie, is the music. There was only soft music. Even in the action parts. It was so soft, I couldn't even eat without disturbing the whole cinema! The only good choice they made was Radioactive by Image Dragons at the end. That was great.
Overall, I DO recommend it to everyone. I haven't stopped talking about that movie. Go see it. It's good!
